The Road towards the Author’s Rights of Audiovisual Directors and Writers Begins.

When?

Next Tuesday, the 5th of April, at 10 am, the Pepe Sánchez Law, a DASC (Colombian Society of Audiovisual Directors) initiative, begins moving forward with the submission of the draft bill to Congress, which will be carried out in the office of the Secretary General of the House of Representatives, National Capitol, Bolivar Square (Plaza de Bolívar).

What do we have to do?

DASC (Colombian Society of Audiovisual Directors) and REDES (Colombian Network of Audiovisual Writers) invite audiovisual writers and directors to join us next Tuesday and support this initiative, which will be the starting point to defend your rights as authors.

And, how can the Pepe Sánchez Law become a reality?

The member of the House of Representatives Clara Rojas and the Senator of the Republic Juan Manuel Galán will be in charge of the project.

As speakers, they will submit it to the Congress of the Republic and, in this way, the management of these author’s rights of directors and writers will become a reality, by modifying Law 23 of 1982, which would allow the addition of a paragraph, where compensations for the authors would be considered every time their creations are used for financial ends.
